Imelda Delgado is an American-trained musician with an earned performance doctorate from Indiana University where she studied with Sidney Foster, American concert pianist. Her performing engagements include solo and chamber music recitals in Mexico, the United States, Switzerland, Italy, and England.
The London Daily Telegraph described her as "a colourful [sic] artist with an infectious enthusiasm."
Dr. Delgado's college teaching experience includes positions at the University of Vermont, Stephens College in Columbia, MO, Del Mar College
and Corpus Christi State University, renamed Texas A&M -- Corpus Christi. In addition, she has given master classes for private
piano students in several cities.
Imelda is an enthusiastic fan and interpreter of Alberto Ginastera, who commented on hearing her perform his works: "Imelda Delgado is a
pianist of high artistic rank and also possesses a transcendental technique." Norman Dello Joio, whose Third Sonata Imelda recorded (Rediscovering,
BR1009), commented: "Her polished performance of my Sonata, and her playing of all of the music on the program was vital and of a
superb musicianship."
Ms. Delgado is a founding member of Camerata del Sol -- Oboe, Piano Bassoon ensemble -- which was established in 2000.
